HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Humanity Action Aid is a National Non-Governmental Organization, an impartial, nonpartisan, and independent aid organization working in situations of exclusion, poverty, conflict, and calamity. Humanity Action Aid works closely with people with disabilities, the most vulnerable and marginalized communities, to respond to the critical needs of people with disabilities, refugees, children, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable populations to improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. Humanity Action Aid’s current portfolios adopt an integrated and multi-sectoral approach, including interventions centred on youth and women empowerment, environmental conservation, and inclusion and disabilities mainstreaming across the programmatic area

Humanity Action Aid was established in 2022 by a group of South Sudanese intellectuals to empower communities, create awareness and advocate for the dignity and fundamental rights of people with disabilities; inclusive humanitarian response and service delivery aimed at improving access to services and general well-being of people living with disabilities and other marginalized communities. Our current focused areas are centred around, Inclusion and disabilities mainstreaming, Inclusive education, General protection, Policy and Civic education, youth and women empowerment, human right and the rule of law, including peace-building and reconciliation, and provision of psychosocial support. We advocate for inclusive youth and women empowerment and environmental conservation for sustainable development.

  • A just society where People living with disabilities, other vulnerable community members and marginalized communities are actively involved and participate in community activities and decision-making, embrace diversity and dignity, and every member attains protection and equal opportunities regardless of their status and beliefs and protect their Environment.

  • Our mission is to empower the community, advocate and take action for the fundamental rights and dignity of People living with disabilities, Refugees, children, internally Displaced persons, and other vulnerable members and marginalized communities, and be able to mitigate and protect the environment.

OBjectives

  • To enhance the capacity of persons with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable communities to defend, advocate and stand for their fundamental rights and autonomy.
  • To empower the youth, women and community members at the grass-roots level on the importance of environmental conservation and the negative effects of environmental degradation
  • To create awareness on inclusion and disabilities, disabilities mainstreaming, and inclusive humanitarian response to community members and other institutions to reduce stigma and discrimination against persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups to enhance access to services
  • To ensure that marginalized and minority groups are inclusively and actively participating in community activities and decision-making processes through advocacy at the community and institutional levels.
  • To empower women and youth to embrace entrepreneurship and socio-economics activities to improve their living standard and economic development through livelihood and food security to build resilience and self-reliance.
